Final Project Finishes for 2021! from Angel Scraps Quilting

Here are a couple of final finished quilts for 2021.

First of all is the doll quilt I started over a year ago.  I finally finished it and gave it as a Christmas gift, along with a doll, to a granddaughter.

Project number two is a Christmas quilt made in the same string quilt pattern that I have made several quilts from this past year.  The only difference is the fabric placement and using the same fabrics in the same places in all the blocks.  It makes a completely different looking quilt.

Here is the back.  I used what I ...

Skyline Divide Throw Quilt by Mary! from Busy Hands Quilts

This is a Skyline Divide Throw quilt made by Mary!

The gray shading makes this quilt so modern!  Mary added a bright yellow border which is not included in the pattern, and I love how cheery it is.  :)  And did you catch the gray/white striped binding?  My favorite kind of binding!  I love everything about this quilt!

A Rustic Christmas Quilt / "I Spy Quilt" from Angel Scraps Quilting

This post is linked to the following linky parties:  From Bolt to Beauty, Alycia Quilts, and Quilting is More Fun Than Housework.

This is my second Christmas quilt finish of the year!  I have been able to continue making quilts using this same pattern, using only what I have on hand.  I have only purchased quilt battings in the year 2021.  This means that I have purchased no new fabric to supplement what I have on hand, nor any backing fabrics.

This quilt is being made for a family whose home has a cabin feel and I was thinking these ...

Grandpa's Barn Quilted Wall Hanging in Lauren! from Busy Hands Quilts

Today I'm sharing a Grandpa's Barn quilt in the Baby size, but I'll call it the Wall Hanging size since it's not made with fabrics suited for a baby!

I recently finished a batch of small quilts to be displayed in my local quilt shop, Tangled Threads.  This is one of the quilts.

Those Pretty Fabrics!

My Grandpa's Barn quilt pattern was selected to highlight a really pretty fabric collection called Lauren.  The collection includes mauves, greens, browns, and tans in ...

My Sister's Christmas Quilt from Angel Scraps Quilting

This post is linked to:  Quilting is more fun than houseworkConfessions of a Fabric Addict, From Bolt to Beauty.

I finished a Christmas Quilt made completely from what I already had on hand.  My sister gave me most of her fabric.  She loves fabric and had bought quite a bit over the years.  But, she decided to de-clutter her house and I was the lucky recipient of some beautiful fabrics.

I decided that since she picked out and bought most of this Christmas fabric, she would most likely like a quilt made from it.  Her birthday is near the ...

Teenager's Strip Quilt from Angel Scraps Quilting

Now that my oldest grandson is 13, I decided he needed a quilt that is more suited to an older person.  The last quilt I made him was when he was in kindergarten!

My inspiration was this vintage quilt which appears to use every kind of fabric you can think of:

My plan is to use lots of plaids, solids and more for the blocks and a medium gray for the borders.  The blocks will be strips sewn diagonally to each other.  I didn't want to sew the strips onto paper and then have to remove all the paper ...

Sweet Caroline Throw Size Quilt Kit! from Busy Hands Quilts

Sweet Caroline has been kitted by Connecting Threads in the Throw size.  This is the Wild Crimson fabric collection, focusing on the blue fabrics in the collection instead of the reds and tans.

The pattern gives exact fabric placement to create the three darker squares in the middle of the 25-patch blocks.  They alternate direction every other block to create a subtle secondary design.

Sweet Caroline is a yardage-friendly quilt pattern that uses strip piecing to go together quickly.

TIP:  Be sure your strip sets are the correct height so the blocks fit together ...

Family Ties Quilt Kit in Kindred Blossoms! from Busy Hands Quilts

Family Ties has been kitted by Connecting Threads in the beautiful Kindred Blossoms fabric collection!  This is the Throw size.

I mentioned in a previous post that I am on a kick using darker fabrics as the background, and this quilt is no exception.  This is a deep indigo.

Family Ties Quilt Pattern in 6 Sizes from Lap to King! from Busy Hands Quilts

Family Ties is a jelly roll friendly quilt pattern that is strip pieced for a quick finish!  No sewing individual squares together, although you could if you wanted to.

Lovely spring weather means that quilts can be photographed on the clothesline again!  There is nothing better than natural light for photos, but it definitely is touch and go - it can't be too gray, can't be too bright, can't be windy, can't be rainy.  Oh my, a girl nearly gives up waiting for the perfect time!

To me, the strips of squares represent the ties of family ...
